Cat Ba National Park is located in Cat Hai district, Hai Phong City and 45 km, established by Decision No. 79-CP dated 31/03/1986 of the President of the Council of Ministers (now Prime Minister) is one of the important ecological reserve of Vietnam is located in the core area of the world biosphere reserve, Cat Ba Island, UNESCO. With a diverse tourism potential, ecotourism activities have attracted a considerable amount of tourists.

Biosphere Reserve Cat Ba Island Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city with an area of 26,241 ha, including 9,300 ha and 16,941 ha marine component parts daoduocphankhuchucnangnhusau:
- The Core: Covering an area of 8,500 ha.
- Buffer: Buffer is the area surrounding the core areas, buffer zones contribute to limit the activities of human help to conserve biodiversity in the core area, with a total area: 7741 ha.
- The Forward: The area of 10,000 ha.
Based on the defined boundaries of the conservation and development of management regulations and the biosphere reserve and functional areas of planning Cat Ba National Park in 2005, spatial orientation development of ecotourism as follows :
- Region I: service center
- Region II: The area for sightseeing, exploring the forest ecosystems, sea caves.
- Region III: Regional development of eco-tourism community
- Region IV: Regional development of tourism resort.
